Karolis Čižauskas was a Phd candidate in a joint doctoral studies programme of History and Archeology (H 005) in Vilnius University and Institute of the History of Lithuania during 2019–2014. In 2025 he received his Phd with a thesis “Kilmingumo ir valdžios raiška XV a. pab. – XVI a. Lietuvos Didžiojoje Kunigaikštystėje: diskursas ir socialiniai pokyčiai” (Nobilty and Lordship in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the Late 15th to Early 17th Centuries: Discourse and Social Relations) under the supervision of prof. dr. Rimvydas Petrauskas. Since 2022 He is a junior assistant teaching at the Faculty of History in Vilnius University, while also an archaeography specialist in the Institute of the History of Lithuania since 2023, where he is working on Lithuanian Metrica. His main interests are: social and cultural history of the Medieval and Early Modern Europe and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, nobility, kinship structures, genealogy and lordship, Mikołaj II Radziwiłł (†1522), Olbracht Gasztołd (†1539).
