The Lithuanian Institute of History and the Family, Women and Children History Network cordially  invite you to Hanna Zaremba-Kosovych's (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) seminar "The formation of a movement for the rights of people with intellectual disabilities in Ukraine". The English-language webinar will take place on 5 December at 14.00.

In the early 1990s, groups of civil activists for the rights of people with intellectual disabilities began to appear in various cities of Ukraine without knowing each other. They were mainly parents of children with intellectual disabilities. The prerequisites for the emergence of the public movement for the rights of people with disabilities, the main concepts of disability that existed at the time and how they were transformed, how the human rights network for the rights of people with intellectual disabilities was created in the period after  isolation will be presented.
