The Lithuanian Historical Institute is expanding its network of partners in Lithuania and abroad. Aurimas Švedas, Director of the Lithuanian Historical Institute, and Rita Malinauskienė, Director of the Vytautas the Great War Museum, signed a cooperation agreement. The two institutions plan to cooperate in researching the history of Lithuania, the army and the history of warfare, and in organising history education and other events. Among the first activities is the organisation of a scholarly conference on unarmed resistance to totalitarian regimes, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Lithuanian Helsinki Group. This conference will be organised in 2026.
